“I’ve been making money from music performance, not streaming” – Whitemoney reveals

BBNaija Shine Ya Eye winner, whitemoney has disclosed that, rather than streaming services, he gets his money from music performances.

In an interview with BBC Igbo, the musician and reality TV personality shared details about his musical history. He noted that, while music hasn’t yet brought him a lot of money, he is still focused on spreading a strong message

White Money also added that despite not having a good voice, he sings for himself rather than to please others—especially critics.

He said;

“The truth is singing has not started paying me, I do not get money from streaming, but I get money from performances. I do not have the best voice but I have a message and melody.

People criticise me, even those paid to criticise me, what you need to know is that I do not sing to make you feel fine or please you because you do not feed me or fund my musical career.”

Reacting to his statement, David wrote, “Whitemoney is proof that hard work can get you what you dream of.

He’s att@cord by critics and toxic tweeps for just being himself and doing his music.

For a few weeks he’s been in South Africa performing his songs and getting paid in hard currency. Last month, he performed exclusively for Chisco’s wife’s birthday, that had in attendance the likes of Peter Obi and other big businessmen in Nigeria.

Keep working hard.”
