Actress Iyabo Ojo has set the record straight on the ongoing issue with one of her biggest fans, Motun.
The lady who built her entire Instagram page around being Iyabo Ojo’s biggest fan made people believe she had real access to the actress, which enabled her to scam gullible fans.
According to reports, Motun allegedly started a fan ‘ajo’, where people contributed money under the understanding that they would collect their turn and gain access to meet the actress in person.
Fast forward, contributors started coming online saying they never got their payouts. Others claimed that once they began asking questions about their money, they were blocked. That’s when everything blew up, and Iyabo was dragged into the matter.
On Instagram live, Iyabo distances herself from Motun, stating that she didn’t assign Motun a lead role in her movie, but that she did show support and appreciate her in her own way to those who respect and stand by her.
The actress issued a stern warning to her ebot to promote her movie again and return the premiere ticket she had been given.
A week ago, Iyabo had reacted to accusations that she gave one of her goddaughters, Fola Tinubu Kayamata. She noted that she wasn’t using Kayamata, so she can’t recommend it to anyone. The movie star further clarified her relationship with Tinubu, stating that Tinubu was just her goddaughter, whom she helped with her business and legal battles.
In other news, days back the actress had disappointed many when she shared a promotional video showcasing upgrades at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos. Ojo praised FAAN while showcasing the terminal’s major upgrades, and described the changes as a positive transformation.
Defending herself, the movie star revealed she wasn’t paid to praise them. She noted how they approached her to help spread the changes to the world, and she agreed without any fee or contract. Iyabo said her gesture was done out of love for Nigeria, and she is unapologetic about it and will continue to use her craft to promote her country.
