Makinde expresses condolence over Baale Bodija’s demise

Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has commiserated with the people of Bodija in Ibadan North Local Government Area, the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and the immediate family of the late Baale of Bodija and Balogun Mumini of Yorubaland, Chief Rasheed Adesokan.


Makinde, who expressed his condolences in a statement signed by his Special Assistant (Print Media), Moses Alao, prayed to God to grant repose to the soul of the former Captain of the Nigeria Army.
According to the statement, the death of Baale Adesokan has left a vacuum within the state and the Muslim community, where he is well-known.


The governor said: “I express my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of Baale Rasheed Adesokan, the Baale of Bodija and the Muslim Ummah in the South-West of Nigeria, as he was until his death, the Balogun Mumini of Yorubaland.
“I equally commiserate with the Ibadan North Traditional Council and the traditional institution in Ibadan and pray to God to keep all other members safe.
“Baale Adesokan’s passage during the most holy month of Ramadan is considered blessed among Muslims, but it has left us with mixed feelings all the same, as his death will leave a huge vacuum in our society.


“Our prayers to God is to protect his family, friends and every sector where he was active in his lifetime and also grant him Aljanah Firdaous.”
