NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA NURSES AND MIDWIVES INDUCTS NEW EXCOS

Induction program for the newly elect members of that State Executive ( SEC) members of the Nigerian association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives.

The state council of the NANM organized a day seminar to induct the newly elected state executive council members on the 16th of March , 2023. This is to build capacity for effective performance on the task ahead of them as NANNM unit officers
The following topics were delivered and discussed by experienced union leaders in the state

  1. The history of trade unionism and the emergence of NANNM as a trade union cum Professional Organization was presented by
    Com. Mrs Akinsola Magret Olubunmi former 1st National Vice President of NANNM
  2. Civil service rules and regulations, collective bargaining/conflicts resolution:a vital tool for building strong union leadership by Alhaji Oladehinde Fatai, Retired Permanent Secretary, Service matters.Oyo state
  3. Effective NANNM unit leadership as an important tool for driving NANNM Developmental agenda by Com.Mrs Ekpebor Florence, Retired Deputy General Secretary NANNM National Headquarters.

Seminar outcome

  • Newly inducted executive members had a good knowledge of what is expected of them

*Participants had a full understanding of their roles and responsibilities as NANM unit executives

*participants had the knowledge and understanding of the operation of the union at various structures of the organization as well as the nannm constitution and policies.

*Participants had the opportunity to interact, ask questions bothering on the union activities and operations, and to tackle different situations which may arise during their tenure.

*The induction program was successful as attested to by the new unit executives who said the experience gained from the induction would come in handy all thorough their tenure to enable them navigate challenges they may encounter during their tenure.
