Oba Adebimpe’s Death: Senator Alli expresses shock, sadness

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed profound shock and sadness over the death of Oba Lateef Adebimpe, the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland.

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Senator Alli, who is also the Maye Balogun of Ibadanland, described the late traditional ruler as a pillar of wisdom, culture, and unity in Ibadanland.

According to him, Oba Adebimpe’s passing is an irreparable loss not only to Ibadanland but also to the entire Yoruba nation.”

The lawmaker emphasised the late Oba’s unwavering commitment to the development and progress of his community, acknowledging his contributions to the progress of Ibadanland.

“Oba Gbadamosi Adebimpe was a custodian of our rich cultural heritage, a man of peace, and a beacon of hope for many.

“His demise is a monumental loss to all of us who had the privilege of knowing him and benefiting from his wise counsel,” he said.

He extended his deepest condolences to the family of the late Oba, the Olubadan of Ibadanland and the entire Ibadan traditional council.

Senator Alli prayed for the repose of Oba Adebimpe’s soul and for God to grant his family as well as the people of Ibadanland the fortitude to bear this great loss.

He urged the people of Ibadanland to honour the memory of Oba Adebimpe by fostering unity and working collectively towards the continued development of Ibadanland.
