OYO NAWOJ  Calls for Girl Child Education, Regular Health Check-ups on Women’s Day*

The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has emphasized the importance of girl child education and women empowerment at a sensitization programme in Dugbe Market, Ibadan.

Speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day, NAWOJ OYO Chairperson Mrs. Omolola Alamu stressed that educating girls is key to societal progress and gender equality.

“Giving girls adequate training from home will go a long way in bettering the society,” she said.

Alamu also urged women to prioritize their health through regular medical check-ups and adequate rest.

She called on men to support their wives as partners in progress, saying it would contribute to a better society.

The traders appreciated NAWOJ’s efforts and appealed to the government to improve power supply and reduce fuel prices
