Police Seize Massive Quantity Of Illegal Drugs

Members of the Aswani Division of the Lagos State Police Command apprehended certain substances believed to be Indian Hemp along the Mushin-Isolo road.

The incident took place on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at approximately 11:56pm, during a routine stop-and-search operation.

As a result, Fidelis Otiga (male, 49 years old) and Chukwuma Kennedy (male, 50 years old) were arrested after the drugs were discovered in their vehicle.

The illicit drugs, valued at thirteen million Naira (N13,000,000.00), were being transported in a Toyota Sienna car with the registration number KJA 118 HV.

The suspects, along with the seized substances, have been transferred to the Command headquarters for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Idowu Owohunwa reiterated the commitment of the police force to ensuring the security of lives and property, as well as a sustained effort in combating the issue of drug misuse and abuse in the state.
