Politics:BAT and the public perception of his hurtful truth.

“Let us not forget that government is ourselves, we are the ultimate rulers of our democracy ” Roosevelt

Hurtful truth ,they say ,is better than innocent lies. It’s therefore not unexpected that the Presidential Candidate of APC Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not speak tongue in cheek. He bares it all no matter whose ass is gored.

In recent times he has expanded our political lexicon with the expressions of his heartfelt emotions like ‘ o lule , emi lokan and e ba change ink ara naira note etc .

Asiwaju as a voice of the voiceless masses is not hiding it that his salvos are directed at saboteurs and creators of artificial scarcity to make things harder for Nigerians and overstretch the limits of their patience . His hurtful message connotes the angst of many Nigerians as a result of the ,hardship and unnecessary stress they are going through this campaign periods.

His messages have been misconstrued largely to score cheap political gains , pitch him against the presidency or fuel the annoyance of Nigerians on the ruling party and by extension the platform under which he is contesting.

He stands on his words. His point-blank mannerisms have also made some people drew a comparison between him and other more reticent candidates who will rather bite their targets silently like a pretentious snake.

Some people have also berated him for his fothrightness and his inability to deploy deception and speak the language of politics that George Orwell says “make lies sound truthful or gives appearance of solity to pure winds ‘

Senator sheu Sanni recently concluded that ” no amount of provocation will make Atiku Abubakar say or do anything funny…..he has remained very focused on his target “

Deception pretending in philosophy has its own way of making people look innocent and holy but hurtful truth is better on the long run .

An American philosopher and the father of pragmatism, Charles Sanders pierce Charges us not to pretend to doubt what we know to be a true form.

I cherish Asiwaju way of not deceptively calling a dark kettle black to win votes, his hurtful truth may not make him ” master of the game ” if politics has become a game for the cardsharps, but the posterity will never forget his straight forwardness. This well meaning Nigerians know is the brutal healing truth.

At a time like this , our country needs a courageous and intelligent leader to take us out of the void we are enmeshed. BAT is the answer.
