Tragedy strikes Nollywood as actress as actress Aderounmu Adejumoke dies

The movie industry in Nigeria has been hit by a sudden tragedy, with the passing of Nollywood actress Aderounmu Adejumoke.

A post from one of her cousins confirmed her passing, and Nollywood has been in mourning since then.

Adejumoke’s cousin’s post confirming her death.
Aderounmu Adejumoke was a phenomenal actress, and one of the reasons why she got very famous is because she had a recurring role in the Jennifer’s Diary movie franchise.

Apart from Jennifer’s Diary, Adejumoke also had a sprinkle of roles in a good number of movies, starring beside actresses like Bimbo Ademoye.

Adejumoke also had a role in Toyin Abraham’s Alakada movie, which was a huge success. She played a pivotal role in the movie, which proved just how versatile she was.

It was often an awe-inspiring experience, watching her switch from English to Yoruba in movies, so swiftly that there was no time to process when she did it.

Even though she didn’t often play lead roles, Aderounmu Adejumoke still managed to solidify her place in the movie industry by putting in her best in every performance.

A good number of her roles were of sassy characters, and she did it so well that one could easily assume that she wasn’t acting at all.

This thirty-seven-year-old actress was never confirmed to be married or even had any kids during her lifetime. Most of her personal life was kept private, as people only knew her for her work.

Aderounmu Adejumoke basically was off the grid, when she wasn’t on screen. Her life was pretty low key, with no controversy attached to her name. Adejumoke’s ability to remain relevant in the movie industry without causing any fuss was uncanny, and it served to protect her image.

Her death has served a huge blow to the movie industry, especially for Yoruba movie makers, as she was a staple part of their industry.
