In a historic move, the UN Tourism delegation arrived at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos today to advance the development of the Ekiti State Tourism Master Plan. This marks the first instance in which the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is extending its expertise to assist a state government in the creation and implementation of a Tourism Development Master Plan.

The distinguished delegation, led by Marcel Leijzer, Deputy Director of the Technical Cooperation and Silk Road Department of the UN Tourism, also includes Messers Okemini Dike and Precious Ovahabonosa from the International Tourism, Ministry of Tourism. The delegation was warmly received with a culturally rich performance by the Ekiti Hip-Hop band, Elekiti Boys, which added to the spirited welcome orchestrated by the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.
