WE’LL ENSURE CORPS MEMBERS ARE POSTED TO SAFE AREAS- NYSC DG

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), Brigadier Gen. Y D Ahmed has noted that the management of the Scheme will ensure that Corps members are posted to safe areas as they are very conscious of their security.

The DG gave the assurance during his visit to the NYSC Oyo Permanent Orientation Camp, Iseyin where the 2024 Batch B Stream one Corps members deployed to the Pacesetter State for their one year mandatory national service are undergoing their orientation exercise.

Ahmed congratulated them on the successful completion of their academic sojourn which has made it possible for them to be mobilized for National Service. The NYSC boss who cautioned the Corps members on the transmission of the activities of the Camp on social media, noted that it is a violation of the Scheme’s rules. He tasked them to be well disciplined and respect camp officials throughout their stay on camp.

He also urged them to see themselves as brothers and sisters as the orientation camp is to appreciate each other’s opinion and understand that Nigeria is truly diverse in nature.

Speaking further, the DG enjoined the Corps members to integrate with their host communities and respect their norms. On the Skill Acquisition programme of the Scheme, Ahmed implored them to focus and take advantage of it, as it is targeted at making them independent and self reliant”SAED is devised to make you independent adult,therefore support yourself with skills. Soft loans are available for you through our stakeholders as Central Bank,Leventis Foundation,Kudimata and some others if you can present a good business proposal.Take this opportunity so that you can prepare yourself for life after service “,he said.

He equally charged them to abide by the rules of wearing the NYSC uniform,asking them to always dress properly to Command respect.While commending the Corps members for being conscious of cholera outbreak due to their clean environment,he advised them to continue to take their hygiene seriously.

Speaking earlier, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mr. Odoba Abel Oche appreciated the DG for having the Corps members at heart. He informed the DG that the Corps members have been of good conduct and participating actively in all camp activities.
