42nd Olubadan Coronation:OYRTMA Closes Link To Mapo Hall

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has announced the closing of some routes leading to the ancient Mapo Hall, ahead the coronation ceremony of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Lekan Balogun Alli, Okunmade II, tomorrow.

The authority, in a traffic advisory, informed the general public that traffic diversions at the routes was occasioned by the official installation of Oba (Dr) Balogun.

It stated that the affected routes shall be shut by 12:00am of today, Thursday, 10 March, 2022 and reopened 12:00pm on Saturday, 12 March, 2022.

The affected include: Beere Junction inward Mapo Hall; Born Photo Junction inwards Oja’ba; Idi-Arere Junction inwards Oja’ba and Itamerin Junction inwards Mapo Hall.

The release noted that OYRTMA men and officers, in conjunction with other sister security agencies, have been adequately mobilised to direct the flow of traffic and ensure the safety of road users.

The Authority however made it known that it has provided some alternative routes to vehicles intending to ply the barricaded regions.

These include: alternative route to the barricade at Beere Junction are Oranyan route, Beere-Oke Dada Route and Agbeni- Ogunpa route; alternative route to barricade at Born-Photos are Gege route inward Oke-Ado and Idi-Arere Route inward Molete;

Alternative route to the Idi-Arere blockade are Agbongbon-Kobomoje-Eleta-Oranyan routes; and alternative route to the Itamerin barricade are Beere-Oje route, Agbeni-Ogunpa route.

OYRTMA expressed regrets over the inconveniences the temporary road diversions might cause motorists and commuters around the affected routes.

It also implore motorists and other road users along the affected routes all to adhere strictly to the provisions above and cooperate with its men and officers to ensure a rancour-free installation ceremony
