64th Independence: Senator Alli calls for renewed commitment to national progress

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has called for a renewed commitment to the ideals of unity and nation-building as the nation celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary.

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Monday in Ibadan.

Senator Alli commended the resilience, unity and unwavering commitment of Nigerians to the progress of the country, urging them to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers by contributing positively to nations building and development.

The lawmaker described Nigeria’s journey since independence as challenging, but lauded the country’s collective resolve to uphold values of peace, tolerance, and diversity.

“We have remained steadfast and united as one people, which is a testament to our resilience.

“With the right policies and the efforts of both government and citizens, we can overcome obstacles and build a prosperous Nigeria where every citizen has equal opportunities,” Alli said.

He encouraged Nigerians to have faith in the potential of the country, stressing the need for patience, determination and collaboration across political, ethnic and religious divides to secure a brighter future.

Senator Alli expressed optimism that with strategic planning, Nigeria would witness economic revival and sustainable growth, leading to an improved quality of life for all.

He congratulated Nigerians on the occasion, praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in the country.

The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of his constituents in Oyo South and the State.
