Oyo state:Gov Makinde declares Wednesday public holiday

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared Wednesday, July 19, 2023, a public holiday in the state, the day being the first day of Muharram 1445 AH.

Makinde declared the day a public holiday in commemoration of this year’s Hijrah 1445.

The governor made the declaration in a circular signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.

The statement was shared by the chief press secretary, Dr,Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The governor congratulated the Muslim faithful on the commencement of the New Year.

He also enjoined them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and sustainability in the state in particular and the country in general
