I’m Happy Yet Sad” – Cubana Chief Priest Speaks on Absence from Davido’s Miami Wedding

Popular Nigerian socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has broken his silence over criticism surrounding his absence at the highly anticipated wedding of music star Davido and his wife, Chioma, in Miami, United States.

In a post shared on Instagram, the celebrity barman revealed he woke up with mixed emotions—joy and sadness—explaining that sometimes God uses situations to remind people of their limitations despite their influence or resources.

Addressing the trolls, Cubana said the backlash has strengthened his resolve to reapply for a U.S. visa, noting that he understands the disappointment many felt over his absence. He expressed optimism that “delay is never denial” and took comfort in the fact that his wife was present in Miami to represent him

“Woke up this morning with mixed feelings. I’m happy and still sad at the same time. Sometimes God has a way of making you understand you’re powerless regardless of all you may think you have. I appreciate the bashing because it gives me more reasons to apply again. @usinnigeria, please do it for me this time. You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding… Delay is never denial. I’m wishing my best friend, @davido, and his beautiful wife, @thechefchi, an amazing wedlock,” he wrote.

Cubana, a staunch supporter of Davido and Chioma, has publicly celebrated their relationship over the years. In 2022, when the couple reconciled, he offered prayers for them and praised Chioma, often describing her as a pride of Imo State.

In the build-up to their wedding, he publicly thanked Davido for standing by Chioma, whom he referred to as his “sister.” On the wedding day, he revealed he had prepared an Agbada worth ₦7 million, but visa issues prevented him from travelling.
