Akinyele Council Chairperson, Mrs Funmilola Akinleye Leads Campaign Against Gender Based Violence*.

In an extraordinary and historic manner, The Chairperson of Akinyele Local Government, Mrs Funmilola Akinleye, today held a comprehensive and transformative campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across the nooks and crannies of Akinyele Local Government.

The Campaign which kicked off at the Local Government Council, Moniya was flagged off by the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye who also in one voice United to End Violence against Women and girls.

The Gender Based Violence(GBV) Campaign was taken to major markets, streets, popular junctions and to the nooks and crannies of Akinyele Local Government. Market women who appreciated the initiative praised the Oyo state Firstlady, Her Excellency, Engr(Mrs) Tamunomini Olufunke Makinde and the Chairperson of Akinyele Local Government, Mrs Funmilola Akinleye for giving the female gender such great importance in the society.

The success of the Campaign Against Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Akinyele Local Government can not just be measured by the large turnout or the media coverage, but by the palpable shift in the hearts and minds of the masses with the message of hope, resilience, and change that was spread like wildfire through the campaign throughout the local government area.

This Initiative is another affirmation that the Government of Oyo state under the leadership of the people’s Governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde will not relent in its efforts to achieve a sustainable and prosperous environment for everyone.
