Akinyele Politician Saheed Akinrinde Switches Allegiance from APC to PDP.

The political landscape of Akinyele Local Government has witnessed a significant realignment as Hon. Saheed Akinrinde, popularly known as Bobby Jet, alongside his loyal team, officially decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The development has continued to generate excitement across the local government, marking another boost for the PDP’s growing influence at the grassroots level.

Hon. Saheed Akinrinde Bobby Jet is no stranger to Akinyele politics. He previously served as the Ward 12 Councillor in the the APC led tenure of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Late Senator Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi. His years of experience, grassroots reach, and political relevance have positioned him as a respected figure whose decisions often resonate strongly among supporters and political stakeholders alike.

Speaking after his defection, Hon. Saheed Akinrinde explained that his decision was inspired by the visible and impactful governance of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, as well as the people-oriented leadership style of the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye. He emphasized that his long standing relationship with Hon. Akinleye, coupled with the Executive chairman’s performance and commitment to grassroots development, made the move both timely and necessary. He further described the PDP in Oyo State as a trusted and reliable party that genuinely prioritizes the welfare and aspirations of the people.

In his reaction, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele LG, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, warmly welcomed Hon. Saheed Akinrinde Bobby Jet and his team into the PDP family. He described the defection as a major boost for the party in Akinyele, referring to Bobby Jet as a “big fish,” a core grassroots politician, and a man of great repute whose presence will further strengthen the PDP’s structure and outreach within the local government.

Party leaders and stakeholders who witnessed the eve ment also hailed the defection as a “big catch” for the PDP. They assured Hon. Saheed Akinrinde of full collaboration and support, urging him to deploy his wealth of political experience toward advancing the party’s fortunes. Many described the move as a clear indication that the PDP remains people-oriented, progressive, and steadily and Continuously gaining more ground in Akinyele Local Government under the Hon Akinwole Akinleye Leadership.
