Alarape emerges as new FOSU President, pledges to take Union to a greater level


Alarape Ibrahim, a student of Oyo state College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Ibarapa zone, has emerged as the new president of the Federation of Student’s Union
Alarape, who was declared as a winner at a press conference held at the Oyo State, Ministry of Education, conference room, Ibadan, by the acting Chairman, Electoral Committee, Comrade Tiamiyu Ibrahim, adding that Alarape, won with an eighteen (18) votes against other contestants who scored four(4) and two(2) votes respectively.


Other newly elected executive members of the association included: Vice President (External), Com. Olaniyi Victoria;Vice president(Internal),Com. Dhikirulah Ali; General Secretary, Com. Miftau Amid; Public Relation Officer I, Com.Ajayi Jonatha; Public Relation II, Com. Ojewola Emmanuel; Sports Director, Com. Adeniyi Kamaldeen; Auditor, Nurudeen Waris.
Also, Treasurer, Com. OyedejiAmos; Financial -Secretary, Com.Onikola Blessing; Social Director. I, Com. Abdulazeez Abdulbasit; Social Director. II, Com.Oladimeji Tunde; Assistance General Secretary, Com. Ibrahim Fawas; Welfare I, Com. Abioye Abiola; Welfare II,Com.Okeola Dare; Senate President, Com. Sodiq Yusuff; Deputy Senate President, Com.Adewale David; Clerk of theHouse, Com. Babalola Olajide;Deputy Clerk of the House,Com Olaniyi oluwaseyi
In his acceptance speech, Alarape appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders across the zones for displaying sportsmanship spirit for the sake of the progress of FOSSU, adding that all members of the union matter.


He promised to consolidate the achievements of the past leadership of the Union by bringing sanity and development to the Union.


He also thanked the Electoral Committee for their efforts in organizing a convention that was deeply rooted in the core values of the Union, urging all his contenders, to join hands with him in uplifting the FOSU to a greater level.


According to him, “I want to seize this opportunity to thankfully appreciate our dear zonal Presidents who bestowed me with Eighteen (18) votes against my contenders who polled Four (4) and Two (2) votes to emerge as the newly elected President of our dear association, Federation of Oyo State Students’ Union.”
“During the electioneering period, I pledged to serve and represent Oyo State Students.
This is a promise I so much hold and shall abide by.”
“I want to congratulate other elected officers for their victory. We shall together serve Federation of Oyo State Students.”
“To all my contenders, we have fought a reasonable battle together, I say having a race with you enriches my pool of experience. I look forward to your partnership and support.”
“My victory is a victory for all. I appreciate the efforts of all stakeholders across all zones and the sportsmanship spirit displayed by many significant numbers of comrades for the sake of progress and having a progressive FOSSU for all of us.
I want to state that all of us matter and we shall run a FOSSU for all.”
“I thank my campaign team (Restoration ’22) and all of us who believed in my aspiration. “
