ASUU:FG’s Circular Stops Reopening Of Varsities

The Federal Government has made a U-turn on its directive to vice chancellors, asking them to reopen universities, which had been shut due to the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

An earlier circular dated September 23, 2022, had directed vice chancellors to reopen varsities.

The new circular advised VCs to await further directives from the National Universities Commission.

The National Industrial Court had last Wednesday ordered lecturers to resume. An order which ASUU has now appealed.
