Benefits Of Drinking Warm Water Early in the Morning for Improved Wellbeing

Health professionals are encouraging more Nigerians to adopt the habit of drinking warm water first thing in the morning, citing its numerous health benefits and positive impact on overall wellbeing.

According to nutritionists and medical practitioners, taking a glass of warm water on an empty stomach helps to flush out toxins, stimulate digestion, and support metabolism. The practice, which has roots in traditional medicine, is gaining renewed attention as more people seek simple lifestyle changes to improve their health.

“Warm water aids blood circulation and can help in relieving constipation, especially when taken before breakfast,” said by a wellness expert based in Ibadan. “It also hydrates the body after hours of sleep and prepares the digestive system for the day.”

Some studies suggest that consistent intake of warm water in the morning may assist in weight management, improve skin condition, and support kidney function.

While cold water may shock the digestive system, experts say warm water is gentler and more effective for internal cleansing. They also recommend adding lemon or ginger for enhanced detoxification.

As the campaign for preventive health gains ground across the country, this age-old wellness practice is being embraced by both young and old in a bid to stay healthier with minimal cost.
