Breaking: NLC, TUC Suspend Planned Strike, To Reconvene June 19

The Trade Union Congress, TUC and Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC have shelved planned nationwide strike, following an agreement with the federal government.

The National Industrial Court earlier on Monday granted an order restraining the NLC and TUC from embarking on industrial action on Wednesday.

The agreement was jointly signed by the TUC president, Festus Osifo and his secretary-general Nuhu Toro; NLC president, Joseph Ajaero and his general-secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja as well as the speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila and the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kachollom Daju.
