Court Dismisses Lawsuit Seeking To Stop Tinubu’s Inauguration Over Alleged Age Falsification And Citizenship

A lawsuit filed by three individuals seeking to stop the inauguration of President-elect, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima over an alleged age falsification and citizenship status in the document submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, has been dismissed by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Justice James Omotosho who presided over the lawsuit filed by Praise Ilemona Isaiah, Pastor Paul Isaac Audu and Anongu Moses, ruled on Friday, May 26, that it was frivolous and an abuse of court process.

Omotosho held that the plaintiffs lacked the locus standi to file the suit, adding that the court could not exercise jurisdiction to hear it because it relates to a presidential election.

This is coming after the Supreme Court dismissed another suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking to void the candidacy of Tinubu and the Vice-president elect, Kashim Shettima, on grounds on double nomination.
