Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State, Barr. Seun Adelore, has reunited with his former principal, Governor Seyi Makinde, in the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM)
Adelore, who resigned his position as PDP chairman in July last year, said he decided to join Makinde in the APM after some of the concerns he previously raised had been addressed.
The legal practitioner recalled that he left the PDP owing to challenges confronting the party at the time, particularly the lack of cohesion within its ranks at both the state and national levels.
In a statement personally signed on Tuesday, Adelore said his decision to return to working with Makinde was informed by their longstanding relationship and his desire to contribute to the development of Oyo State.
He added that he would be delighted to see his principal replicate his achievements in Oyo State at the national level, noting that Makinde’s ideas and leadership style could help reposition Nigeria on the right track, if elected President on the platform of the APM in 2027.
According to him, the governor had resolved some of the issues he raised while in the PDP, making it necessary for him to align with him again in the interest of the state.
He pledged to mobilise support for the APM and work towards the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections in the state.
Commending Makinde’s leadership style, Adelore urged the people of the state to rally round the governor and all APM candidates, especially the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Bimbo Adekanmbi in the forthcoming elections.
