Nigerian gospel singer and Nollywood soundtrack vocalist, Onos Nancy Brisibi, has died at the age of 55.
Her family confirmed her passing in a statement released on Thursday, disclosing that she died on March 23, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
The family described the late singer as a devoted Christian and gifted minister whose music touched countless lives. They also remembered her as a warm, joyful, and compassionate individual whose legacy would continue to inspire many.
According to the statement, Brisibi was a passionate praise and worship leader whose voice and ministry left a lasting impact on those who encountered her.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah, her mother, siblings, and members of her church family in LoveWorld Ministries.
Meanwhile, tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues and associates, including Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, who is also her cousin.
In an emotional tribute, the veteran actor described the late singer as “love in human form,” recalling her vibrant personality, sense of humour, and unwavering faith. He noted that her laughter and warmth remained evident even in her final days, adding that her passing has left a deep void.
Other celebrities, including Funke Akindele, Omoni Oboli, Kate Henshaw, Hilda Dokubo, and Mo Abudu, also expressed condolences, describing her death as painful and praying for strength for her family.
Brisibi’s death adds to a series of recent losses within the gospel music community, underscoring a period of mourning for the industry.
