Gov,Makinde further beefs up security in Oyo

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has stepped up efforts to improve security in the state with the donation of an additional 100 operational vehicles to security agencies. 

The governor said the move was in response to boost the capacity of the security agencies to combat crime. 

Makinde, while donating the 100 operational vehicles to the security agencies in the state at the open field after the Governor’s car park, said the state government will continue to provide all necessary support to the security agencies in order to ensure the safety of the people and their property.

He said: “What we are doing today is to appreciate our service commanders and officers and men of the various security agencies in Oyo State.”

“Throughout last year (2023), we faced various security issues and challenges, but you made Oyo State one of the safest states in Nigeria.”

“And what can we do? We can only give maximum support to ensure that your work is not hindered. And I want to give you the assurance that we will continue to support you.”

The governor, however, solicited the supported the support of the service commanders to pay special attention to the welfare of the people that they would deploy.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, CP Fatai Owoseni (rtd), praised the governor for his efforts to improve security in the state. 

He said the governor’s donation of 100 additional operational vehicles to security agencies is a landmark achievement that will go a long way in enhancing the effectiveness of the state’s security apparatus. 

The special adviser also commended the governor for his “unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of the people of the state.
