Hon. Wole Akinleye Receives Southwest Railway Police Command Chief, Reaffirms Commitment to Akinyele Security

The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the council as he received the Area Commander, Railway Police Area Command, Western District, Ibadan, ACP Adekunle Olaoluwa Obabusayo, on a courtesy visit. The visit followed resolutions reached at a recent Peace and Security Meeting convened by the Local Government, where stakeholders expressed concerns over the increasing human traffic at the railway station located within Akinyele Local Government. Although the facility is a Federal Government establishment, it was noted that any security challenge arising from its operations would directly impact the host community, making proactive security measures imperative.

At the meeting, the Local Government resolved that the security architecture around the railway station and its environs should be significantly strengthened to forestall possible security threats associated with the growing number of commuters. Acting swiftly on the resolution, Hon. Akinleye directed that the need for enhanced security at the railway station be formally communicated to the appropriate authorities. The courtesy visit by ACP Obabusayo was therefore aimed at fostering collaboration between the Railway Police Command and the Local Government towards ensuring adequate security coverage and sustained peace within the area.

Speaking during the visit, ACP Adekunle Olaoluwa Obabusayo commended the Executive Chairman for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to the security of lives and property in Akinyele Local Government. He applauded the Executive Chairman’s investments in promoting a peaceful environment and emphasized the importance of maintaining a seamless working relationship between the Railway Police Command and the host Local Government. The Area Commander assured the Chairman of the Command’s readiness to work closely with the council to safeguard the railway station, its surrounding communities, and all residents of Akinyele Local Government.

In his remarks, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye appreciated the Area Commander and his team for the visit, reiterating that his administration would continue to replicate the people oriented leadership and security initiatives of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde. He stressed that the security of lives and property remains a top priority and pledged sustained collaboration with all security agencies to keep Akinyele LG peaceful and safe for residents and visitors alike.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Aderinwale Abideen Adeyemi; the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Edward Adeniran; the Special Assistant on Security to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Afeez Olanipekun; ASP Sunday Francis; ASP Egbinola Tunde; the Akinyele Local Government Admin/Legal Officer, Mr. A. J. Adeduntan, and other senior officials.
