Written by: Oladimeji Ibrahim Pemisire

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead”. Nelson Mandela

Hon Akinwole Akinleye’s emergence as the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government has ushered in a new rain across the nooks and crannies of the Local Government.

His administration has ushered and implemented various initiatives to improve the lives of residents, including rehabilitating roads, providing accessible healthcare services, and investing in education.

One of his notable achievements is the ban on night vigils in the local government area due to kidnapping concerns. This decision was made after a series of kidnappings occurred during night vigils, and Hon Akinleye worked closely with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and security agencies to implement the ban.

In less than a year in office, Hon Akinwole’s commitment to the people of Akinyele is evident in his agenda, which focuses on education, agriculture, health, security, and youth development. He has also been recognized for his dedication to public service, and his leadership style is rooted in humanity, empathy, and inclusiveness.

Even in the face of adversity, underdevelopment, economic inequality, poverty and bad governance which has ravaged and been associated with Local Government System in Nigeria, Hon Akinleye’s emergence gave hope to the hopeless and restored back the lost democratic process to the grassroots.

Now our people can dream; Hon Akinwole has given a fresh start to the people of Akinyele Local Government and now they can dare to dream and witness the fulfillment of what Local Governance entails.

People can now move freely because they have a servant leader who doesn’t play politics with their lives and properties; they know they are in safe hands.

Our pupils and students are now motivated to go to school knowing fully well that there is now a provision of a quality, qualitative and conducive learning environments, Farmers are now happy because they have witnessed how energetic and productive their LG Executive Chairman is in terms of investing in Agriculture and our rural roads are now getting the necessary attention.

In the space of Eight Months in office, Hon Akinwole Ayobami Akinleye is redefining politics in Akinyele Local Government and following the path of his Father, Mentor and Principal, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, HE Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde by bringing governance to the door step of the common man in the street.

Now that we have a man whose resolve is to see a better Akinyele Local Government, our people can now dream of a better and a brighter future. A future where we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Thank you Hon Akinwole Ayobami Akinleye for leading by example and thank you for making the Akinyele of our dream a reality.
