International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day: Akanimo Cancer Foundation holds awareness campaigns at six cities in Nigeria

In an effort to raise awareness about childhood cancer in Nigeria, the Akanimo Cancer Foundation held an awareness  campaign across six cities in the country. 

The awareness campaign is in commemoration of the International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. It aims to educate the public about the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, as well as the importance of early detection and treatment.

The campaign is being led by the founder of the Akanimo Cancer Foundation, Barr. Idara Ekanem who has said that the association is committed to ensuring that childhood cancer awareness reaches every part of Nigeria and beyond. The foundation also aims to provide support and resources to families affected by childhood cancer, as well as advocate for increased funding for childhood cancer research.

The Oyo state project coordinator in response to journalist at the press conference, appealed to parents to always access quick medical attention and intervention fir their children whenever their children comes with a complain or presents any unusual signs in their body. 

The campaign was held simultaneously in six major cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Kano, and Ibadan. In each city, the foundation held seminars, press conferences, and awareness walk to educate the public about childhood cancer.
