Kaduna gov appoints new heads for govt agencies

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has announced fresh appointments for the management of key agencies in the state.

The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, on Monday, charged the new appointees to be “adaptive, innovative, and competitive” in serving the people of the state while driving the state’s economic revitalisation agenda.

The appointments, which take effect immediately, are as follows: Ahmed Shehu Haruna: Acting Managing Director, Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company; Naymarie Musa-Akande: Managing Director/CEO, Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company Limited; Ibrahim Abdulkarim Adamu: Managing Director, Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority; and Ibrahim Yusuf, who’s now the Managing Director, Kaduna Ranch Development Company Limited.

While congratulating the appointees, Sani expressed confidence in their abilities to bring transformative changes to their respective agencies.

“These appointments are not just about filling positions but about finding the right people to drive our vision of economic prosperity and social development for Kaduna State.

“I trust that each of you will rise to the occasion,” the governor said.

Haruna, now at the helm of the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company, brings a wealth of experience in finance and consulting.

A seasoned chartered accountant and forensic expert, Haruna has nearly a decade of professional practice, including his tenure with KPMG in Lagos, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms globally.

According to the statement, Musa-Akande assumes her new role as the Managing Director/CEO of the Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company Limited with an impressive track record in law, governance, and politics.

A former APC Woman Leader in Kaduna State, Musa-Akande’s legal experience spans multiple jurisdictions, including Nigeria and the UK, with expertise in commercial litigation, corporate transactions, and employment law.

On his part, Adamu transitions from his former role as Managing Director of Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company to lead the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority.

A Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Adamu’s background in public service spans decades, marked by significant achievements in financial management and policy implementation.

Also, Yusuf’s appointment as Managing Director of Kaduna Ranch Development Company Limited is seen as a strategic step to modernise the state’s livestock sector.

A dairy expert with over a decade of experience, Yusuf has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at optimising livestock value chains and resolving the recurrent farmer-herder crises in Nigeria.

“Before his appointment, Yusuf served as a Dairy Technical Consultant with Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition Ltd and worked on humanitarian projects with organisations like Christian Aid UK.

“His tenure with Intersos Humanitarian Organisation and Whitegate Farms further solidifies his expertise in livestock management and project optimisation,” the statement said.
