The package, which is an empowerment programme emplaced by the chairman of the council, Hon Sikiru Sanda, is aimed at creating greater access to healthcare delivery for the elderly.

This was as Mrs Makinde also commissioned the newly-renovated marriage registry/event hall now known as Tamunominini Makinde Multipurpose Hall, a structure renovated to provide a dignified environment for weddings and generate revenue for the local government.

Speaking at the event on Tuesday, Mrs Makinde commended Hon Sanda for the laudable projects, charging other local government chairmen to emulate such acts.

According to her, the free health insurance scheme would guarantee the elderly persons an access to free quality healthcare for their well-being and equally help them to detect and manage their ailments at no cost.
