NAWOJ hails President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Gender inclusiveness*

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) commends His Excellency, Mr Ahmed Bola Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for appointing Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

In a statement released to the Press, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, National Chairperson of the Association stated that since the Inception of the administration, the President has continued to fulfill his campaign promises of ensuring Gender Inclusion by his appointment of women in key offices in Government.

NAWOJ National Chairperson has therefore urged the women folk who are so appointed to head some key positions in this country to serve with commitment, dedication, uprightness and due diligence in all capacities and remain role models for future generations to come.

“All eyes are on women in leadership; please, it is time to disprove the myth about the lack-lustre performance of women in governance and prove to the world that women are imbued with the capacity to achieve results in whatever tasks they are saddled with. ” The National Chairperson stated. She further urged women to shun any form of misconduct which may tarnish the image of women or dent the integrity of womanhood by creating doubts on their leadership capacities.

Comrade Ibrahim further said: “Lead with every sense of humour and be proactive! We are women and we are proud to be one.”

NAWOJ tasked the newly sworn in Chief Justice of Nigeria to use her position in promoting the rule of law, national security and peace as well as serving her mother land with fairness.
