NUC Verification: AIUN poised to deliver exceptional education in Nigeria

The American International University of Nigeria (AIUN) is on the cusp of fulfilling its commitment to providing top-tier tertiary education in Nigeria, marking a promising future for students across the nation. 

Dr Oludare Akande, the institution’s proprietor, shared the vision with newsmen after the successful visit of  National Universities Commission (NUC) delegation to the AIUN permanent site in Wasimi, Oyo State.

Akande, the Chairman of the American Polytechnic of Nigeria (APN) and Bellagio Airlines, was recently honoured with Investor of the Year Award by Sun Newspaper.

The NUC team, warmly received by esteemed dignitaries and South-West leaders of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), conducted a thorough verification of AIUN’s facilities and academic offerings during their visit.

Subsequently, the NUC granted approval for the commencement of the implementation process, paving way for the launch of four faculties, 10 departments and 15 courses in the initial phase.

These faculties are Management and Social Science, Allied Health Science including Nursing Program, Science and Computing as well as Law, showcasing a comprehensive academic framework designed to nurture well-rounded scholars. 

Akande highlighted the significance of the verification exercise as a pivotal moment in the establishment of this prestigious institution.

He emphasised the institution’s dedication to meeting all final licensing requirements ahead of the next admission cycle.

Akande expressed AIUN’s unwavering commitment to comply with regulatory standards and the delivery of quality education.

He said that commitment underscored the institution’s mission to become a beacon of academic excellence and innovation in Oyo State.

With the NUC’s endorsement and the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, he said that the university’s goal of offering world-class education was edging closer to fruition.

Akande noted the invaluable support and cooperation extended by traditional rulers, host community and government authorities, underscoring a shared commitment to fostering excellence in higher education within the region. 

He said that the verification visit did not only signify a transformative step in Oyo State’s educational landscape, but  heralded a new era of academic distinction and opportunity at AIUN.
