Ogun state government gifts Tobi Amusan N5m and a house

Tobi Amusan made the country proud in the recently concluded sporting event in Birmingham after she set a new world record and won a gold medal.

Nigerian track and field athlete, Tobi Amusan has been celebrated by the Ogun state government for her prowess in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Tobi Amusan made the country proud in the recently concluded sporting event in Birmingham after she set a new world record and won a gold medal.

In respect to her victory, the governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, gifted her a house in Ijebu Ode and awarded her a check of N5 million for her landslide win.

The gifts were presented to her when she paid a visit to the Ogun State Government House in Abeokuta on Tuesday, October 4.

Gov. Abiodun, speaking at the meeting, commended Amusan for her doggedness, resilience, and determination to excel.

He added,

“We are going to be presenting you with one of those homes in Ijebu-Ode. We are rest assured that you will come back home and live in Ijebu Ode.

“We will be giving you a small token. Now you are a big girl, we are only a state government. No matter who you are, you can’t be bigger than your state. It’s not the quantum of what we are giving you but the thoughts that come with it. We are donating to you the sum of N5 million today.”
