Opposition Leaders Meet in Ibadan for Strategic Summit

Key figures in Nigeria’s opposition political space gathered in Ibadan, Oyo State, for a National Summit of Opposition Political Party Leaders held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House.

The summit drew the presence of notable politicians including Peter Obi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

Also in attendance were former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, who joined other stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening opposition politics in the country.

Earlier, a session featured members of the organising committee, including co-chairmen Kashim Ibrahim Imam and Jerry Gana, alongside the ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, and former Minister Kabiru Turaki.
Former Niger State Governor Aliyu Babangida was also present at the gathering, which brought together top political actors across party lines.
The event, hosted by Governor Makinde, provided a platform for consultations and engagement among opposition leaders, with discussions expected to focus on national issues and fostering greater unity within the opposition bloc.
Photographs from the summit, released by the Oyo State Governor’s Media Unit, captured moments of interaction among the leaders during the high-level meeting.
