Oyo Govt Seeks Stronger Collaboration with Federal Schools to Boost Education Standards and Student Security*

The Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has expressed its readiness to collaborate with all Federal Government schools located within the state in order to strengthen the standard of education and enhance the security of students across public schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, made this known while receiving the Commandant of Police Secondary School, Igboora, CSP Ogunlade Fisayo, and her management team during a courtesy visit to his office on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Hon. Olayiwola commended the Commandant for the visit, noting that the Ministry of Education remains the central coordinating body for educational development in the state. He emphasized that although some institutions are owned by the Federal Government, many of the students are indigenes of Oyo State, making collaboration between federal and state institutions essential.

According to him, such synergy is necessary to ensure the academic success, welfare, and security of students across all schools within the state.

The Commissioner therefore pledged the ministry’s commitment to sustaining cordial relationships between federal and state-owned institutions for the benefit of the students and the overall advancement of education in Oyo State.

Earlier in her remarks, the Commandant of Police Secondary School, Igboora, CSP Ogunlade Fisayo, stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize herself with the Commissioner and also seek greater recognition and publicity for the school due to its location.

She explained that out of the five Police Secondary Schools in the South-West region, the Igboora school is the second largest, with a student population of over 750 drawn from both civilian and police families.

CSP Ogunlade expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for the warm reception and pledged the commitment of the school management to collaborate with the state government in promoting quality education and the academic development of students.
