The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has congratulated Engineer Joseph Tegbe on his appointment as Minister of Power by President Bola Tinubu.

The union described Engr. Tegbe’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of competence, integrity and dedication to national development, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the nation’s power sector.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the NUJ commended President Tinubu for what it described as a thoughtful and strategic decision aimed at placing the right person in the right position.

The Council noted that Engr. Tegbe has distinguished himself over the years through exemplary leadership, professional excellence and commitment to public service, qualities it said would greatly benefit the country at this critical period.

According to the statement, the appointment further reinforced the confidence of Nigerians in the administration’s resolve to appoint capable and experienced individuals into key positions of national assignment.

The union expressed optimism that Engr. Tegbe would bring innovation, professionalism and practical solutions to the power sector, particularly in addressing challenges relating to electricity generation, transmission and distribution across the country.

Oyo NUJ also urged the new Power Minister to justify the confidence reposed in him by ensuring policies and programmes that would improve power supply, stimulate economic growth and enhance the living standards of Nigerians.
