PRP Seeks Stronger South West Presence Ahead of 2027 Elections.

The National Vice Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Comrade Olajide Wolimoh, has called on party members and stakeholders in the South West to unite and strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wolimoh made the call while delivering his welcome address at the South West Regional Meeting of the PRP, where he described the gathering as a defining moment in the party’s efforts to reposition itself as a credible alternative for good governance in Nigeria.

Addressing party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants and members of the press, the PRP chieftain said the meeting was aimed at deepening unity within the party and mobilising support across the region.

According to him, the South West has historically been known for progressive politics, intellectual advancement and democratic values, but lamented that many residents are currently grappling with economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment and poor infrastructure.
“The time has come for the people of the South West to embrace a formidable and credible alternative that truly represents the hopes and aspirations of the masses,” he said.

Wolimoh maintained that the PRP remains committed to social justice, accountability, equality and people-centred governance, stressing that leadership should serve the people rather than exploit them.

He noted that the party’s ideology focuses on improving education, healthcare, agriculture, industrialisation, youth empowerment, women inclusion and infrastructural development.
The PRP vice chairman also urged aspirants seeking elective positions under the party to distinguish themselves through discipline, humility, political maturity and commitment to the party’s manifesto.

“Our politics must be issue-based, people-focused and development-driven. We must show Nigerians that PRP aspirants are prepared to lead with integrity, vision, competence and compassion,” he stated.

Speaking on preparations for the 2027 elections, Wolimoh stressed the need for sacrifice, unity, commitment and adequate funding, noting that no political party could achieve electoral success without strong financial support from members and stakeholders.

He called for the building of strong party structures across states, local governments and wards in the South West, while urging youths, women, professionals, artisans, students and community leaders to join the PRP.

Wolimoh also appealed to the media to continue to report the activities and programmes of the party fairly and professionally, describing the media as a critical pillar of democracy and nation-building.

He expressed optimism that with strategic planning, collective sacrifice and unity, the PRP would emerge stronger and become victorious in the 2027 elections.

The meeting brought together party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants and members from across the South West region to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the party ahead of future electoral contests.
