Rotary District 9126’s Zone 1 Committee on Special Blood Donation, has successfully held the National Blood Donor Day at the National Blood Service Agency (NBSA), located at the South West Zonal Centre, opposite KS Motel, Total Garden in Ibadan.
The event, themed, “Unity in Donation: Diversity in Life,” drew a large crowd and highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.
The day was filled with engaging activities that not only encouraged blood donation but also promoted overall public health as attendees had the opportunity to participate in hepatitis screening and vaccination, a vital service that underscored the event’s health focus.
Additionally, informative health talks were conducted, providing participants with insights into the health benefits of blood donation and preventive care.
In a festive atmosphere, attendees enjoyed live musicand were offered various donor incentives, making the experience enjoyable for all. The event successfully fostered a spirit of community engagement and solidarity, emphasizing the crucial role of blood donors in healthcare.
Organised by the National Blood Service Agency (NBSA) and sponsored by the District 9126 Zone 1 Special Committee on Hepatitis and the District 9126 Zone 1 Special Committee on Blood Donation, the event was a testament to Rotary’s commitment to addressing health challenges within the community.
