Ayilara Descendants Disown Ogbomoso’s Chief Imam Amidst Controversy

In a recent development, the descendants of the renowned Sheikh Uthman Ayilara in Ogbomoso have publicly disowned the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Teliat Olushina Ayilara.

This follows an ongoing dispute between the Chief Imam and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Prince Hassan Ayilara clarified that the Ayilara family does not condone the alleged blackmail and threats made by the Chief Imam’s Personal Assistant against the Soun of Ogbomosoland and the Soun-in-council.

The family has also distanced themselves from the attacks and acts of vandalism carried out by hoodlums, which resulted in property damage and injuries to individuals.

Referring to Teliat Olushina Ayilara as an imposter, Prince Ayilara emphasized that he has been disowned by the family and has brought shame upon not only the Ayilaras, but also the entire Muslim community of Ogbomosoland.

Furthermore, Prince Ayilara stated that the Chief Imam attained his position through manipulation and the backing of powerful interests in Ogbomosoland.

As the dispute escalates, efforts to reach Teliat Olushina Ayilara for comment have been unsuccessful.
