Senator Alli Mourns Matriarch of APC Progressive Family

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru, mother of the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

In a condolence message made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan, Alli described the death of the respected matriarch as a painful and heartbreaking loss, not only to the Basiru family but also to the entire progressive family in Nigeria.

The late Alhaja Sidikat Abake Basiru reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, June 28.

Alli said the deceased lived a fulfilled and impactful life marked by dignity, wisdom, kindness and unwavering devotion to family and humanity.

He noted that the late matriarch raised children who had continued to distinguish themselves in public service and nation-building, describing her legacy as worthy of honour and emulation.

The APC governorship candidate said the death of a mother remained one of the most painful experiences in life, praying that Almighty Allah grants Senator Basiru and the entire family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“All mothers occupy a special place in our lives, and losing such a treasured figure is always painful. I sincerely sympathise with our dear brother, Senator Ajibola Basiru, over this great loss,” he said.

Alli urged family members, friends and associates to take solace in the remarkable life and enduring values left behind by the deceased.

He prayed that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings and grants her Aljanah Firdaus.
