A leading Oyo South Senatorial hopeful under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke has felicitated with Muslim Ummah as they join their counterparts all over the world in celebrating Eid-el-Fitri.
Adegoke, a business turn around expert, and alumni member of both OAU Ife and University of Cambridge Judge Business School Advance Leadership Program, who stated this while speaking with Journalists at the house of former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja noted that as the entire world is celebrating Eid-el-Fitri to commemorate the end fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, he admonished Muslim faithful to continue to reflect the teaching of Ramadan in their daily activities.
Describing the month of Ramadan as a holy season which should be dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity, the Ibadan Chief, who is a philanthropist per excellence stressed that the acts of forgiveness, piety, togetherness, alms giving and generosity must be upheld beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
Adegoke, the Aare-Onibon Balogun of Ibadanland, said Eid-el-Fitri which was begun by the holy Prophet of Islam is a special day for expressing gratitude to the Almighty Allah for all that “we are and all that we have”.
He maintained that the lessons of this period, including the virtues that the Holy month of Ramadan emphasise are worth being sustained towards making his senatorial district, state and indeed, the country at large a better place.
Adegoke, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), urged the Muslim ummah to use the occassion of Eid-il-Fitri to offer prayers for the the state and country in general.
He admonished Muslim faithful to embrace the teachings of the holy Qu’ran and exemplary lifestyle of Prophet Muhammed in their daily endeavours, adding that the compulsory Ramadan fasting, will afford Muslims the opportunity of self appraisal in the service of Allah and humanity.
He then prayed to Allah to give the Muslim community and country at large the strength and peace after the holy month of Ramadan.
”I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters as the 2022 Ramadan fasting comes to an end. It is yet another opportunity for sober reflection and rededication to the service of Allah and mankind.
“The teachings of the holy Quran and exemplary qualities of Prophet Muhammed must be sustained beyond holy month of Ramadan. Let us demonstrate love, forgiveness, peace and generosity that Ramadan brings beyond this holy season.
“I, therefore, call on all our Muslim brothers and sisters, and other faiths across Nigeria to continue to reflect on how their spiritual lives and cultivation of human virtues can contribute more towards fostering peace, unity and progress in our dear nation.
“Oyo south, Oyo state and Nigeria as whole will be prosperous if we tolerate our brothers and sisters of other religious faiths. I wished the Muslim community a fulfilling Eid-il-Fitri”.
