I Have No Ambition To Contests For Any Political Office, Says Ladoja

Former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has cleared the air that he has no plan to contest for any political office or of the governor in the state, rather his plan is to work on how Ibadan and the state with be peaceful.

Senator Ladoja who is the Osi Olubadan of Ibadan land, made the declaration at his Bodija Residence in Ibadan, while fielding questions from Journalists on the occasion of the Eid-el fitri celebration.

According to him, what is more important to him as high Chief in Ibadan land at this point in time is how he would work for the peace and progress of Ibadan land.

Speaking on the 2023 elections, Senator Ladoja urged politicians to imbibe tolerance, peace and fear of God in order not to plunge the nation into political unrest.

“I have no plan to contest for office of the governor or any political office, the plan I have before me is how I can make Ibadan and the entire state peaceful and progressive.”

Speaking on how the lessons of Ramadan can bring religious tolerance and Harmony to Nigerians, Senator Ladoja said the two religions are from God Almighty, hence Muslims and Christians need to imbibe love of God and total harmony in their dealings with one another.

According to him, the followers of Islam and Christianity are from Ishmael and Isaac who also are Abraham’s children whom God loved so much, hence, Muslims and Christians should learn to live together in peace and harmony.

“The lessons of Ramadan is peace, harmony and tolerance. All the factors I mentioned here are enough to make Nigeria grow from strength to strength both in our political life and in the secular life.

Also, on the high fee of N100 million charged by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to obtain forms and the N40 Million for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the elder state man said the development Will encourage corruption, describing the fees as to outrageous.

Senator Ladoja also described the issue as high arrogance on the part of the political Parties, adding that if the 36 states of the federation can be shared among seven parties, it will address the issues on ground, such that will bring peace to the nation and the people.
