Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting students’ education, describing such investments as a rightful use of the state’s commonwealth.
The governor gave this assurance earlier today while receiving members of the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU), who staged a solidarity walk to the state Secretariat in appreciation of the recent payment of bursaries to indigent students.
Addressing the students, Governor Makinde commended their show of gratitude and explained that the disbursed bursaries were part of the people’s shared resources, designated to ease the educational journey of Oyo students.
He also used the occasion to encourage the students to remain focused on their academic goals as they build the knowledge and skills necessary for their future careers.
“We will always listen to you,” Governor Makinde said, “so feel free to draw our attention to any issues of governance that affect you. Your voices matter.”
The governor assured FOSSU that his administration remains committed to policies that prioritize education, youth development, and inclusive dialogue.
