Yetunde Kuti well known as Yeide Kuti has spoken up on her marriage to controversial singer, Seun Kuti.

His wife stated that she had known him for a long time but never felt any feelings for him because he was in a relationship at that time and because of the age difference.

The couple stated that they never had any pressure to get married and Yetunde revealed that her family was surprised that her relationship with Kuti got to marriage. This is because they thought he would end up like his father, and she was going to be one of his 35 or 50 wives.

“My family was surprised that my relationship with @bigbirdkuti got to marriage because they thought that I had already ended my life being with him and I was just going to be one of his 35 or 50 wives”.

“I met her when I was 24 years and now I am 41, while my wife will be 37 this year.

His wife said: I have known him for a long time but we didn’t use to talk because he was older than me. I met him through his cousin and started working with him as a dancer. It wasn’t that he was out of my league but he had a lot of things going on for him, so at that time I wasn’t eyeing him.

Seun Kuti: At that time I had a girlfriend but I was attracted to her when I met her. I was toasting her and I didn’t know she was seeing someone I knew, that’s why she was playing hard to get.

Seun Kuti said: there was pressure for me to get married. I can’t be pressured because it is my happy place. We got married not under pressure”.

Speaking on what she considers a deal breaker in her marriage, she said she can never leave her husband because he cheated on her.

“I have no deal breaker in my marriage, I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me”.

Similarly, Yeni Kuti, his aunt, stated that infidelity is not a deal breaker in marriage.

Referring to how her late father married several women, she insisted that she would never leave her home for another woman as she revealed the only deal breaker in her marriage.

Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor revealed that she can’t leave her husband over infidelity. She stated that she can’t leave her husband’s house for anyone, because the side chick is the visitor and as such, must leave for her.
