SEYI LEKAN SI 2023 PROJECT: Group Endorses Makinde For Second Term, Lauds Gov’s Unprecedented Achievements

A political pressure group, SEYI LEKAN SI 2023 PROJECT, on Thursday, endorsed Oyo State Governor,’ Seyi Makinde, for second term in office and pledge to continually support his administration.

The group, in its state meeting held at the Western Hall, Oyo State House of Assembly, Complex Secretariat, Ibadan, said based on the giant strides recorded in the last two and half years, it has publicly thrown its weight behind Governor’s second term bid in the Office.

The State Chairman of the group, Prince Yusuf, maintained that the governor’s performance in surpassed the expectations of the people, noting that the group will do everything within its power to see that the the governor is reelected.

He said: “I am happy to say categorically that so many of our reports in the last two years plus helped our Governor in so many ways to correct a lot of things and guide the Governor to choose the right part. Even on the issue of Fulani Herdsmen, we made a lot of reports directly to the government, and I wish to say that our amiable Governor is a listening Governor who always took our reports promptly and acted on it. May I say His Excellency usually accorded our group with dignity and good recognition.

“We equally promise that we will do everything within our power to see that the Governor elected for the second time.

“We are praising the Governor and his government to please continue to perform excellently well as he has been doing in the last two years and eight months. It was during the Covid-19 pandemic when the Governor benevolently moved freely, which shocked a lot of other state governments, and in fact the Federal Government

“We are solidly behind you Sir, and we pledge our loyalty and support to your administration and we pray that come next election in 2023 you will win convincingly to continue the good job you have been doing since you were sworn in, in the year 2019, May 29th.”

The group urged the governor to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of everyone in the state, saying it will stand by the governor come rain and sunshine.

“We are a very loyal group and we shall be with you during raining and sunshine, and you will rule to victory in the year 2023 general election: Long live Seyi Lekansi 2023 Project and Long live our amiable Governor,” He said on behalf of the group.

Similarly, other speakers who spoke at the meeting, said the Makinde led administration is people-oriented and the projects, which he had embarked on in the state have placed him above his predecessors.

They added that the pacesetter State deserves the services of “such a committed and hardworking public officers to further move the state forward.”

They explained that Governor Makinde has brought governance nearer to the people, adding that he has proven to be a round peg in a round hole.

The meeting had in attendance representatives from all the 33 Local Government of the state, others include, Commissioner for Trade, Investment, and Commerce. Bar. Mr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Chairman, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akinade Alamu, personal assistance to the Governor, Mr. Akeem Lawal, Hon. Kayode Makinde, Politicians, host of others.
