In an effort to improve access to healthcare for vulnerable populations, the Rotary Action Group for Family Health and AIDS Prevention (RFHA) has organised a 3-day Rotary Family Health Days (RFHD) initiative.
The event, which took place from April 16 to 18, 2024, was a collaborative effort involving Rotary Clubs and Districts, of Health, Private Sector, and NGOs.
During these three days, local Rotary clubs set up health screening sites in various locations, focusing on providing free health services to underserved communities.
The initiative addressed critical health issues such as HIV, polio, and other diseases, by offering services like polio and measles immunizations, dental and eye clinics, family counseling, and screening, testing, and referrals for HIV, TB, malaria, diabetes, hypertension, and more.
Project sites identified for the initiative in Ibadan, include Atilola Adedigba (MAN) Primary Health Care center at Joyce B road, Former NTC area, Ibadan; Sango-Poly Ibadan Motor Park at Sanho, and Alegingo Primary Health Care Centre at Akobo, Ibadan.
The initiative aims to improve public health outcomes and address the unique needs of vulnerable communities.
The Rotary Family Health Days programme has been successfully running for over a decade, providing essential health services to those who need them the most
With the support of partners such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, RFHA continues to expand the reach of this important initiative to more countries in Africa.
