Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to agricultural and economic development with the flag-off of two major initiatives—the upgrade of Eruwa Farm Settlement to Eruwa Agro-Industrial Hub and the distribution of food items under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) program.

At the event in Eruwa, Governor Makinde officially launched the transformation of the historic farm settlement into a modern agro-industrial hub. The upgrade is aimed at boosting agribusiness, creating jobs, and enhancing food security across the state.
The governor was joined at the ceremony by the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, and the Director General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande.
“This project is part of our administration’s commitment to sustainable economic development through agribusiness. We are positioning Eruwa as a model for integrated rural development and industrialization,” Makinde stated.
In another significant outing, the governor was also seen alongside top political leaders during a high-level engagement in the state. Present were the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke; the Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja; Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin; and the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
Meanwhile, in Oyo town, Governor Makinde flagged off the SAfER food support program, distributing essential food items to residents as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship.
“Our goal is to support our people during these challenging times. SAfER is designed to ensure that no one is left behind as we work towards economic recovery,” he said while handing out relief packages to beneficiaries.
