The Two jeeps were presented to Demola and Dare by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju on Thursday (today) at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan.

Reacting to the Makinde’s surprise gift, the NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola took to his social media accounts to extol the leadership qualities of the Governor.
He wrote:

“In July 2021 (2years ago) when we (Dare, Mayor and I) had a chanced meeting with His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde and discussion reached some point, the Governor felt concerned about the ‘plight of Nigerian Journalists’ and he promised to change the narrative for the better.

” He had done very many wonderful things for the NUJ even before he became the Governor.

“He has always been a Philanthropist of note. He has continued to play very many supportive roles in my life before and after my election as NUJ Chairman. While leaving the meeting, he promised to buy SUV Cars as gifts for our contributions to nation building and more importantly, to ease our tasks as stakeholders in the Project Oyo State

“He also used the opportunity of our meeting to renew his pledge to make the State a better place for all at the end of his stewardship as the Governor of the State.

” We appreciated him and wished him the very best. Twoyears after, we had almost lost hope in him but the Governor this day July 27 makes good his promise and gifted myself and Dare SUVs as promised. Mayor had received a similar gift over a month ago. On behalf of all of us, this is to appreciate the Governor and wish him the best in the task of developing our dear State.

“And this is a quick reminder that he will definitely fulfill all his promises to the electorate. It is a lesson that we just have to give him time and pray for his success to make our State a greater society for all. Thank you Your Excellency. The State awaits further prosperity and may you succeed Sir.” Amen.
