Ramadan: Akinyele Council Boss, Hon Akinleye Hosts Iftar session with Residents, reiterates commitment to promote inclusive governance*

The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye hosted an Iftar session with the residents of Akinyele Local Government yesterday at the council secretariat, Moniya, Ibadan.

The Iftar program held yesterday marked a historic and significant occasion for the Muslim faithfuls and the general public. Hosted by the Executive Chairman, the event saw the presence of various dignitaries, including Akinyele Legislative house members, media teams, supervisory councilors, special assistants, party stakeholders and leaders, party members as well as members of various communities.

This remarkable gathering stands out as the first time in many years that an Executive Chairman of the Local Government has extended such a gesture of unity, generosity, and inclusivity. The program provided a platform for fostering togetherness, strengthening community ties, and reaffirming the commitment of the local government leadership to the welfare of its people.

The event commenced with an opening prayer and recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a spiritual and reflective tone for the gathering.

The Executive Chairman, Hon Akinwole Akinleye in his address, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and communal support, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting inclusive governance and ensuring that all segments of society feel valued and involved in the affairs of the local government.

During the program, meals were shared, and attendees engaged in discussions on community development, religious tolerance, and social cohesion. Several key stakeholders and leaders also took turns to appreciate the Executive Chairman for his unprecedented initiative and urged him to continue in his efforts to build a harmonious and prosperous society.

The Iftar program concluded with a closing prayer, where attendees collectively prayed for the progress and development of the local government area, as well as continued peace and stability in the region. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to partake in the event, describing it as a commendable and heartwarming initiative.

Overall, the Iftar program at Moniya Ibadan Local Government Secretariat was a resounding success, setting a positive precedent for future engagements between the government and the people.
