Controversial Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly appealed to his wife, Bewaji, following his recent clash with actress Ashabi.
In a live video making the rounds online, the singer called on the public to help beg his wife not to remain angry with him. Portable declared that he has fully returned to Bewaji, claiming that whatever influence the “other lady” had over him is now gone.
According to the singer, this is not a time for his wife to fight or push him away, as he now belongs to her completely. He emphasized that Bewaji is his only legal wife and insisted that he cannot marry any other woman. Portable also disclosed that he has relocated her from Sango for her safety, while describing his other partners as merely baby mamas.
“Please, everybody should help me beg Bewaji not to be angry with me. Her husband is back. All the jazz that the other lady used on me is over. This is not the time to fight me or push me outside. I am now fully hers. She is my legal wife, and I can’t marry any other woman. The rest are baby mamas. I have moved her out of Sango for her safety. She should forgive me for having children outside; it is part of the price of being a glorious musician,” he said.
Kemi Filani had earlier reported that Portable and Ashabi were involved in a heated confrontation during the New Year period. In the viral clip, the singer reiterated that Bewaji is his only wife, while Ashabi, who was seen holding onto him, made dramatic statements during the altercation.
In another Instagram video, Portable accused Ashabi of storming his house to attack his family, alleging that his pregnant wife was beaten and that guns were pointed at his children. He also claimed that Ashabi’s mother accused him of using charms on her daughter and questioned why he had not bought her a car.
Late last year, Bewaji confirmed she was expecting her third child with the singer, sharing a video of her baby bump on Instagram. Shortly after, Portable posted a clip of himself with Bewaji, showing him affectionately playing with her and spraying her with money.
Portable is legally married to Bewaji, with whom he shares two children. He also has four children with three other women, including actress Ashabi, who has two children for him. Despite facing public challenges in their marriage last year, the couple appear to have reconciled once again.
